The 190 year old Laphroaig distillery is located on the southern tip of the Isle of Islay, Scotland, and several environmental impacts have not brought the distillery down. The perseverance and conviction of the distillers has resulted in the most original style of Islay whisky, and the distillery is now owned by Bessie Williamson, known as the “Queen of the Islay”. Her management has helped to make Laphroaig’s reputation in the whisky The reputation of the distillery has grown.
This Laphroaig 1998 Single Cask, the original wooden cask of the 1998 Port Cask, has a strong nose, heavy peat, smoky and fruity aromas, and a full-bodied palate.
